In a tragic incident in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, a six-year-old girl was reportedly raped and thrown off a roof by an assailant, leading to her death. The Sikandrabad police swiftly arrested two suspects, Raju and Veeru, after a brief exchange of gunfire. The victim’s family alleged that she was sexually assaulted before being thrown off the rooftop by the perpetrators.
The accused individuals, Raju and Veeru, who resided in a rented house in the same building as the victim’s family in a village within the Sikandrabad industrial area, were identified. Authorities mentioned that the minor was playing on the terrace when she was targeted. She was later found in critical condition in a nearby plot of land. Following a formal complaint by the victim’s father, the police formed three specialized teams to apprehend the suspects.
Dr. Tejveer Singh, SP, Bulandshahr, stated that during a police attempt to intercept the suspects in the industrial area, they opened fire. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, both suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs. They were promptly arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police recovered two pistols and a collection of live and spent cartridges from the suspects during the operation.
After being discovered, the victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The police have sent her body for a post-mortem examination to verify the sexual assault allegations. Dr. Singh mentioned that the victim’s father suspects that the two youths raped the child before throwing her off the roof. The accused individuals have reportedly admitted their involvement during initial questioning, and further legal action is pending.
On January 2, in a separate incident in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, an 18-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly killing a middle-aged man who attempted to sexually assault her. The victim, Sukhraj Prajapati (50), was found with fatal head injuries caused by a sharp-edged weapon. Following a complaint by the victim’s family, the police arrested the woman with the weapon, identified as a ‘farsa.’
