The iconic Sky Tower in Auckland lit up in the colors of the Indian flag to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to New Zealand. PM Modi, on the final leg of his three-nation tour, was greeted by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon at the airport. This visit marks the first official trip by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in 40 years.
While sharing a photo of the illuminated Sky Tower, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the significance of the gesture, symbolizing the friendship between the two nations. PM Modi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and termed the visit as historic, emphasizing his eagerness to discuss bilateral ties with Luxon.
PM Modi’s visit aims to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship and explore new avenues of cooperation across various sectors. The agenda includes discussions with Luxon on trade, commerce, defense, and interactions with business and sports personalities. The visit will culminate with an address to the Indian diaspora in New Zealand before PM Modi returns home.
