Slovakia’s Ambassador to India, Robert Maxian, emphasized the need to enhance defence collaboration between the two nations. He praised India’s ‘Make In India’ initiative, highlighting the country’s self-sufficiency in various sectors. Maxian encouraged Indian companies to participate in the upcoming IDEB Exhibition in Slovakia.
Maxian underscored Slovakia’s role as a reliable partner in defence technologies, citing a long history of supplying military hardware to India. He urged both countries’ defence industries to engage in discussions and explore cooperation opportunities. The Ambassador also anticipated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Slovakia, expecting it to strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors.
During PM Modi’s visit, discussions are expected to cover areas such as investment, trade, innovation, artificial intelligence, and student and labor mobility. Maxian expressed the desire for increased cooperation between companies, organizations, and universities of both nations. He highlighted the importance of fostering closer ties through student exchanges, tourism, trade, and investments.
PM Modi’s upcoming State Visit to Slovakia, the first by an Indian Prime Minister since the country’s independence in 1993, aims to explore new avenues of cooperation. The visit will include talks with Slovakian leaders to enhance bilateral relations. Maxian acknowledged India’s growth as a global power and emphasized the potential for further development and cooperation between India and Slovakia.
