In a tragic turn of events, another snake was discovered inside the home of eight-year-old Aljo shortly after his body was returned following a post-mortem confirming death by snakebite. His older brother, also bitten by a snake, is currently fighting for his life in the hospital. The shocking discovery has heightened the sorrow and fear among family members and neighbors.
The incident, which initially seemed like an unimaginable loss, now carries an added sense of dread as the same house faced another snake intrusion. Aljo lost his life in the early hours of Sunday when a snake entered their home while they slept with windows open to combat the intense heat. The house is situated near Kodassherimala’s foothills, close to rubber plantations and forested areas where snake sightings are not unusual.
As relatives gathered and Aljo’s body was brought back home, panic ensued when another snake was spotted on the premises. Although locals managed to remove the reptile, questions linger about the safety of the house and the potential presence of more snakes within. Neighbors fondly remember Aljo as a vibrant and loving child, with his sudden demise leaving them in disbelief.
The family is now grappling with a dual tragedy – mourning the loss of Aljo while hoping for the recovery of Anosh, the elder brother undergoing treatment for a snakebite. The mother, who collapsed upon hearing the news, is receiving medical attention, while the father struggles to come to terms with the loss and the uncertainty surrounding his other son’s condition. Amid funeral arrangements, fear has gripped the community, prompting calls for immediate action to address the wildlife threat in residential areas.
