Actress Soha Ali Khan has encouraged Mumbai residents to participate in the ongoing municipal elections by sharing a post on social media. In her post, she highlighted issues like road conditions, construction, traffic congestion, and pollution, urging people to vote and make a difference. Soha’s message emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and the impact of each vote in shaping the city’s future.

Veteran poet Gulzar, producer Kiran Rao, and singer-actor Junaid Khan were also spotted exercising their voting rights during the Maharashtra local body elections. Gulzar, known for his poetic works, proudly displayed his inked finger after casting his vote, symbolizing his contribution to the democratic process. The celebrities’ active participation in the elections aimed to inspire citizens to fulfill their civic duty and engage in the electoral process.

Polling for the municipal corporations in various cities, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and others, commenced on January 15. The State Election Commission reported the setup of numerous polling stations equipped with Control Units and Ballot Units to facilitate the voting process. Mumbai alone had a significant number of polling stations to accommodate voters and ensure a smooth electoral exercise. The elections across these cities are crucial in determining local governance and addressing community concerns through democratic representation.

Actor Maniesh Paul also joined the initiative by sharing a picture on social media displaying his inked finger as proof of voting. His simple yet impactful message urged the residents of Mumbai to exercise their voting rights and participate in the electoral process. The collective efforts of celebrities and citizens in promoting voter turnout reflect a shared commitment to democracy and the belief in the power of individual votes to bring about positive change.
