Mumbai, Aug 11 (IANS) Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited on Tuesday reported a sharp decline in its June quarter earnings, with net profit plunging 96.2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1.6 crore as revenue nearly halved and operating margins contracted significantly.

The alcoholic beverages maker reported a net profit of Rs 1.6 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, down 96.2 per cent from Rs 42.1 crore in the corresponding period last financial year (Q1 FY26), according to its stock exchange filing.

Revenue from operations declined 49.2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 269 crore, compared with Rs 528 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s operating performance also came under pressure. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 78.8 per cent to Rs 14.9 crore from Rs 70.2 crore a year earlier.

EBITDA margin contracted by 780 basis points to 5.5 per cent, against 13.3 per cent in the same quarter last financial year.

The sharp fall in earnings reflects a challenging quarter for the Bhopal-headquartered company, which manufactures and markets a portfolio of beer, Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages.

Founded in 1993, Som Distilleries is the flagship company of the SOM Group and is known for brands such as Hunter, Woodpecker, Black Fort, and Power Cool in the beer segment.

Its spirits portfolio includes Pentagon Gold Edition, Milestone Blue, Milestone 100, and Legend Premium Whisky, while White Fox Vodka is among its offerings in the vodka category.

The company operates a major manufacturing facility near Bhopal and has expanded its presence through operations in states including Karnataka and Odisha.

Som Distilleries caters to both domestic and international markets and has invested in advanced brewing technologies to support production efficiency.
