Former actress Somy Ali shared her distress upon hearing about veteran screenwriter Salim Khan’s hospitalization, describing him as a father figure in her life. She fondly recalled being treated like a daughter in his home, engaging in deep conversations about faith and philosophy. Somy highlighted the lasting impact of Salim Khan’s views on spirituality, emphasizing the importance of truth in storytelling.

Salim Khan, known for his significant contributions to Indian cinema, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 17. His son, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, and daughters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan, along with actor Aayush Sharma, were seen at the hospital. Salman Khan, interrupting his shooting schedule, rushed to be by his father’s side.

Salim Khan, who celebrated his 90th birthday last November, has a remarkable career trajectory from a film extra to a renowned screenwriter. Partnering with Javed Akhtar in the late 1960s, they formed a prolific screenwriting duo, creating iconic films like ‘Sholay’ and ‘Deewaar’. Their work revolutionized Hindi cinema, setting new standards for storytelling and character development.
