Shivam Mishra, son of K.K. Mishra, a tobacco businessman in Uttar Pradesh, and the prime suspect in the Kanpur Lamborghini crash incident, was apprehended on Thursday morning. Kanpur Nagar Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Kumar Srivastava confirmed the arrest after a routine medical examination. Teams acted on information received about Mishra’s whereabouts, leading to his arrest and subsequent court appearance.
The Deputy Commissioner mentioned that the arrest followed court directives, and the police will proceed accordingly. He highlighted the collaborative effort of five teams in securing Mishra’s arrest. Investigations have determined that Mishra was behind the wheel during the Lamborghini crash, with substantial evidence to be presented in court.
Six individuals sustained injuries in the accident, which involved the Lamborghini hitting a rickshaw and a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle. Eyewitnesses reported attempts by Mishra’s security personnel to remove him from the scene before official intervention. Mishra faces charges of negligent driving, endangerment, and causing harm through reckless actions.
A twist emerged when a man named Mohan claimed responsibility for driving the car, alleging that Mishra experienced a sudden seizure before the crash. Despite assertions from Mishra’s family about his medical condition, police stand by their evidence, including videos showing Mishra at the wheel post-accident. The legal dispute continues in court over the actual driver’s identity.
