Actress Sonali Bendre shared that her role in “Raakh” taught her the balance between self-protection and vulnerability as an actor. Portraying Mona Arora in the series allowed her to delve into challenging emotions. The character, influenced by sorrow and strength after a significant tragedy, marked Bendre’s return to emotionally intense acting.

Sonali expressed how the project impacted her personally, noting a shift from lighter stories to a more intense emotional space. Despite initial concerns, she discovered the ability to engage with deep emotions on set without carrying them off-screen. This realization reassured her as an actor.

Reflecting on her experience, Sonali emphasized the importance of navigating difficult emotions at work while staying true to oneself. Working on “Raakh” prompted her to reconsider the relationship between self-preservation and artistic openness. The project enabled her to explore intricate feelings and trust in her ability to detach from them post-performance.

Starring Ali Fazal, Sonali Bendre, and Aamir Bashir, “Raakh” is helmed by director Prosit Roy and created by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket. Produced by Endemol Shine India and BhaDiPa, the series is set to premiere on Prime Video on June 12 in India and globally across 240+ countries and territories.
