South Korean President Lee Jae Myung is set to host a luncheon meeting with lawmakers from minor parties and independent members of the National Assembly this week. The meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, will include representatives from five non-negotiating parties like the Rebuilding Korea Party and New Reform Party, as well as independent members. The exact time and venue for the meeting will be disclosed later, according to presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung.
During the gathering, President Lee is expected to outline his policy direction on crucial matters such as prosecution reform and real estate policy. He will seek cooperation on legislation concerning people’s livelihoods and the economy. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and address key issues facing the nation, as reported by Yonhap News Agency.
President Lee Jae Myung recently returned from a diplomatic trip to India and Vietnam, focusing on enhancing strategic cooperation in energy and supply chains to mitigate uncertainties arising from the Middle East conflict. The six-day visit involved summits with leaders from both countries to strengthen economic and strategic ties across various sectors. Notably, during a summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on April 20, both leaders agreed to boost economic cooperation in critical minerals, energy, artificial intelligence, finance, and shipbuilding.
In another significant engagement, President Lee held summit talks with Vietnam’s top leader To Lam in Hanoi on April 22. The discussions centered on deepening economic ties in energy, infrastructure, and technology, as well as enhancing coordination for supply chains. Subsequent meetings with Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man focused on advancing bilateral relations further.
