South Korea’s President Lee Jae Myung has chosen Han Seong-sook as the successor to outgoing Prime Minister Kim Min-seok. Han, an information technology expert, has been designated as the country’s next Prime Minister. She has emphasized that enhancing the well-being of the people will be her primary focus if she assumes the role. Han expressed her commitment to addressing the urgent issues affecting people’s lives, especially in the face of technological advancements and global challenges.

Han, who previously served as Lee’s minister for medium-sized enterprises and startups, highlighted the importance of driving innovation and ensuring that the benefits reach all segments of society. She acknowledged the accomplishments of the outgoing Prime Minister and pledged to build upon them to bring tangible improvements that directly impact the citizens. President Lee emphasized Han’s work ethic and competence, noting her dedication to public service and her ability to drive practical solutions.

With a background in journalism and extensive experience in the tech industry, Han has a track record of leadership and success. She has held prominent positions in major companies like Naver, where she played a pivotal role in shaping South Korea’s internet landscape. Han’s appointment as Prime Minister would mark a significant milestone, making her the first female to hold this position in the Lee Jae Myung administration. Her nomination reflects a strategic decision to prioritize expertise and results-oriented leadership in governance.
