South Korea’s Tom Kim staged a remarkable final-round performance to clinch victory at the Genesis Scottish Open. Despite a strong start, Indo-Canadian Sudarshan Yellamaraju finished tied-52nd after a challenging final round. Indian-American Sahith Theegala settled for tied-66th, while Aaron Rai’s title defense ended early as he missed the cut.
Yellamaraju, initially showing promise with impressive early rounds, faced difficulties in the later stages of the tournament. Theegala, making a gradual comeback from injury, couldn’t capitalize on his steady performance. Rai, the defending champion, failed to progress after a disappointing start.
Kim’s exceptional play in the final round secured him the victory, finishing two shots ahead of Australia’s Min Woo Lee. Kim’s win marked his fourth PGA TOUR title and a historic moment as the first South Korean to win the Genesis Scottish Open.
Lee finished as the runner-up with a strong five-under 67, while Robert MacIntyre, Matt Fitzpatrick, Keita Nakajima, and Johnny Keefer shared third place. Keefer’s performance earned him a spot in the Open Championship, along with Michael Thorbjornsen and Victor Perez.
