The Southwest Monsoon has finally reached the eastern parts of Rajasthan, arriving seven days later than usual. The Northern Limit of the Monsoon is currently passing through Tonk, Jaipur, and Alwar, with favorable conditions for further progress in the state over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department reported the monsoon’s advancement into additional parts of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and eastern Rajasthan.
Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is expected in Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Jaipur divisions, with the possibility of intense rainfall in isolated areas, especially in Kota division. Over the next couple of days, vigorous monsoon activity is anticipated in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer divisions, leading to widespread rainfall in eastern Rajasthan. Residents are cautioned about potential waterlogging in low-lying areas due to heavy rainfall, as per R.S. Sharma, director of IMC, Jaipur.
Weather conditions are expected to intensify in western Rajasthan, with Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions likely to experience thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall as the monsoon progresses. The Meteorological Department advises the public to stay informed through official weather updates and take precautions during heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. Farmers, commuters, and local authorities are urged to prepare for the anticipated weather conditions.
