Prajapati Nautiyal, Officer on Special Duty for the Char Dham Yatra Administration Organisation, announced the establishment of special transit camps along the pilgrimage route for health screenings of pilgrims. Additionally, Out Patient Departments have been arranged along the path leading to the pilgrimage sites.
The Char Dham Yatra commenced this year on April 19 with the opening of Yamunotri and Gangotri temples, followed by Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham on April 22 and 23 respectively. Nautiyal emphasized the importance of pilgrims reading and understanding the health advisory issued by the Health Department before embarking on the journey.
Nautiyal advised pilgrims to undergo health screenings if they experience symptoms like dizziness, chest pain, or headache, and to seek medical assistance from the available teams along the pilgrimage routes. At the transit camps, five health screening teams are conducting checks for pilgrims over 50 years of age for blood pressure and sugar levels.
Moreover, OPD facilities are available at the camps to ensure pilgrims receive necessary medications appropriately. Nautiyal reported that over 1000 pilgrims have undergone screenings at the health camps and utilized the OPD services. Rest camps have also been set up along the route for pilgrims to take breaks as needed.
The government and administration have made provisions at various points on the pilgrimage route for pilgrims to rest periodically. These arrangements have been tailored considering the weather conditions and terrain encountered by the pilgrims. Nautiyal expressed optimism for a safe and successful journey for all pilgrims, highlighting the continuous monitoring of the yatra by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
