Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam emphasized the need for a comprehensive investigation into the recent Ram Temple donation theft incident. Krishnam stressed that a mere one or two resignations are insufficient in addressing the issue, which involves not just Rs 200 crore but potentially Rs 1,000 crore. He highlighted the significance of uncovering the individuals responsible for this act.
Krishnam expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stating that the public trusts them to conduct a transparent inquiry. He underscored the importance of prioritizing religious integrity over holding positions of power. Krishnam criticized the opposition for attempting to tarnish the reputations of Modi, Yogi, and the Ram Mandir, noting that their faith in Lord Ram remains unwavering.
Following the controversy surrounding alleged financial irregularities at the Ram Temple, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust chief Champat Rai and Trust member Anil Mishra resigned from their roles. The resignations, based on moral grounds, come in the wake of reports suggesting misappropriation of funds worth hundreds of crores by temple staff in collusion with bank officials. The Trust is responsible for managing donations and day-to-day operations at the temple.
In response to the situation, an FIR was filed against eight individuals, including temple attendants, counting staff, and former bank officials, accused of embezzling temple funds. All the named suspects have been arrested and detained. The arrests follow preliminary findings by the SIT, which highlighted lapses in donation handling at the Ram Temple.
