Vikram-1, the first privately constructed orbital-class rocket in India, was launched on July 18 by Skyroot Aerospace, a space startup based in Hyderabad. The maiden test flight, named ‘Mission Aagaman,’ took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Designed to deploy small satellites weighing up to 350 kg into low Earth orbit (LEO), Vikram-1’s initial mission aims to position a payload into a 450-km orbit with a 60-degree inclination.
