DMK President M.K. Stalin criticized Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for engaging in “dirty politics” by trying to sway AIADMK legislators. Stalin defended DMK’s choice to boycott the trust vote, ensuring no hindrance to the TVK government’s formation. He emphasized avoiding political instability or the need for President’s Rule in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin expressed gratitude to allies like DMDK leader Premalatha Vijayakanth for supporting the walkout during the confidence motion. While acknowledging other parties’ support for the TVK government, he accused it of betraying their trust. Stalin raised concerns about the ruling camp’s attempts to influence AIADMK MLAs amid internal party turmoil.
The DMK leader questioned the government’s integrity and warned of public scrutiny over potential rewards for rebel AIADMK legislators. Stalin reiterated DMK’s commitment to its principles, vowing to act as a “constructive opposition” in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
