DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin criticized the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state, questioning the leadership clarity within the opposition front. He highlighted a contradiction in messaging during the NDA’s public meeting in Madurai. While AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami projected his party as the alliance leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about forming an “NDA government” in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin pointed out the confusion among the alliance constituents regarding its leadership, indicating a lack of cohesion within the opposition bloc. He reiterated that the upcoming Assembly election would be a battle between “Tamil Nadu and the NDA.” Stalin framed the political contest as a clash between “regional self-respect and central dominance,” emphasizing that it would be a fight between “Team Tamil Nadu and Team Delhi.”
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the people of Tamil Nadu would support his government in the electoral contest. He dismissed concerns about former critics joining the DMK-led alliance, stating that it was an alliance based on principles rather than just numbers. Responding to Prime Minister Modi’s remarks, Stalin highlighted the BJP’s unsuccessful ambitions in Tamil Nadu, asserting that the people would decisively deliver their verdict.
