Star cricketers Laura Wolvaardt, Shafali Verma, and Sune Luus have been shortlisted for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for December 2025. Wolvaardt, after a successful run in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, showcased her talent by scoring three centuries in various formats. Leading South Africa against Ireland, she led her team to clean sweeps in both the ODI and T20I series.
Wolvaardt’s exceptional performance included an unbeaten 115 runs in the opening T20I at a remarkable strike rate of 205.35. She continued her dominance in the ODI series, scoring back-to-back centuries of 124 and 100 runs, finishing with an impressive average and strike rate. In the T20Is, she scored 137 runs at a high strike rate, losing her wicket only once.
Shafali Verma from India also shone during the T20I series against Sri Lanka, contributing significantly to India’s 5-0 series win. Verma’s explosive batting style was evident as she scored consistently, culminating in a record-breaking partnership in the fourth T20I. She finished the series with 241 runs at a phenomenal strike rate and was awarded the Player of the Series.
Sune Luus, the South African all-rounder, had a standout month with crucial performances in both batting and bowling against Ireland. Her all-round display in the T20Is and ODIs, including scoring a century and taking wickets, highlighted her value as a dominant player in December.
