Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has confirmed his participation in the upcoming Ranji Trophy game for Saurashtra against Punjab at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on January 22. Saurashtra Cricket Association president Jaydev Shah mentioned that Jadeja will feature in this match, with uncertainty about his availability for future games.
Additionally, it has been revealed that India captain Shubman Gill will be joining Punjab to play in Rajkot. Saurashtra, after a series of drawn matches, secured a victory against Goa before facing Punjab at their home ground. Following this fixture, they are scheduled to play against Chandigarh starting January 29.
Notably, Gill did not participate in any Ranji Trophy matches this season, while Jadeja played a single domestic game against Madhya Pradesh, which ended in a draw. Both Saurashtra and Punjab currently hold positions in the lower tier of their Elite Group, with one win each in their previous matches.
With no imminent international commitments for either player, Jadeja and Gill are likely to be available for the final group game of the Ranji Trophy. Jadeja, having retired from T20Is, and Gill, not part of India’s upcoming matches, may continue representing their state teams in the absence of national duties.
