In preparation for the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit for Central Gujarat, the state government has provided financial aid totaling Rs 1,432.41 crore to 12,908 industrialists in Vadodara. This allocation marks the highest amount given among regions hosting similar summits. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi disbursed the assistance during a meeting in Vadodara, emphasizing the state’s commitment to enhancing industrial growth through targeted policies and timely financial support.
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the state’s increased appeal to industries nationwide and globally under the new industrial policy led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This has led to a surge in fresh investments and industrial expansion in Gujarat. Official data shared at the event revealed that Vadodara received the highest assistance compared to previous regional summits, with Mehsana, Rajkot, and Surat also benefiting from significant financial support.
The substantial allocation for Vadodara signifies the region’s growing industrial presence. The financial aid was dispersed across various schemes, with the MSME sector receiving Rs 402.58 crore benefiting 9,171 individuals. Additionally, 3,490 beneficiaries in the textile sector were granted Rs 471.62 crore. Large industries received Rs 523.15 crore distributed among 213 beneficiaries, while other schemes supported 34 beneficiaries with Rs 35.06 crore.
Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi commended Gujarat’s industrial community for its innovation and adaptability, which have greatly contributed to exports and economic growth. He assured continued support through industry-friendly policies and structured resolutions for industrial estate issues. Industrialists were encouraged to actively participate in the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit, aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between industry and government. Keyur Sampat, Managing Director of INDEX-B, presented an overview of the summit’s framework during the meeting.
