Five children, including toddlers, were bitten by a stray dog in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka. The incident took place in the Devinagar locality of Kalaburagi city while the children were playing outside their homes. The children suffered serious injuries to their eyes, ears, and chest and are currently receiving treatment at GIMS Hospital.
Residents in the area have expressed anger towards the municipal corporation authorities for their perceived failure to address the issue of stray dogs. Locals claim that dog attacks are a frequent occurrence, yet authorities have not taken appropriate action. In response, residents protested and demanded immediate measures to control the stray dog problem in the city.
On a separate occasion, a video of a young girl bravely fending off stray dogs in Kalaburagi went viral on social media. The video captured the girl, wearing a hijab and school uniform, confronting a group of barking dogs with courage until they eventually retreated. The girl’s mother later appeared with a stick to ensure their departure.
In another incident, stray dogs that menaced a young girl in Rehman Colony were swiftly captured by the corporation authorities. The corporation assured the public that safety protocols have been reinforced. Additionally, five children were injured by a rabid dog in the Mominpur area of the city.
