A 23-year-old student at an Ayurveda College in Holalkere town, Chitradurga district, Karnataka, tragically died by suicide. The student, identified as Likhitha, was found hanging at her residence in Basava Layout. Reports suggest that Likhitha was distressed by false rumors connecting her romantically with a lecturer, impacting her reputation negatively.
Likhitha reportedly left a suicide note implicating the lecturer, Dr. Raju, his wife, Nisha, and some fellow students for harassment and defamation. In response to the complaint, Holalkere Police have initiated an investigation, registering a case and filing an FIR against the accused. The authorities are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In separate incidents, a 22-year-old student named Hemanth died by suicide in Bengaluru after a dispute with his mother, while a 19-year-old diploma student, Dhanush, was found deceased in Turuvekere town due to emotional distress. Additionally, a medical student in Attavar, Karnataka, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a building after visiting a friend.
