A 20-year-old student, Dixit Prasad, tragically died by suicide in Kota, Rajasthan, ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 exam. He jumped from the roof of his hostel building a day before the scheduled examination on May 3. Dixit, originally from Uttarakhand, was residing in Kota for exam preparation, causing shockwaves among his peers and the local community.

Authorities were alerted in the morning, and police promptly arrived at the scene to take custody of Dixit’s body, which has been sent for post-mortem examination. No suicide note has been found yet, and investigations are considering various factors, including exam-related stress and personal issues.

The student’s family has been notified, and the post-mortem will proceed upon their arrival, leaving them devastated by the tragic incident. Meanwhile, with the NEET UG 2026 exam approaching, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued guidelines to ensure a smooth exam process for candidates.
