Students at Bolan Medical College in Quetta protested outside the college premises for the safe return of Khadija Baloch, a female student who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee reported that Khadija was taken from the college hostel and her whereabouts remain unknown since then. The protest aims to end enforced disappearances and ensure the safe release of Khadija Baloch.
The BYC highlighted that enforced disappearances are a recurring issue in Balochistan, with the state using it as a means of collective punishment. The Baloch Women Forum condemned Khadija’s abduction, emphasizing the violation of human rights and the growing insecurity in educational spaces for women. The forum expressed solidarity with the protesting students and called for international human rights organizations to intervene in the case.
The BWF stressed the need for immediate action to address the abduction, ensure accountability, and protect Baloch female students. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of educational institutions for women in Balochistan. The forum warned that any delays in addressing the situation could lead to further public outrage and questions about human rights compliance.
