Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Badal declared that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his aides will face consequences for alleged wrongdoings after the 2027 assembly polls. Speaking at a Punjab Bachao rally, Badal warned that those involved in corruption cannot escape justice by fleeing abroad, as they will be brought back to face legal action.
Badal dismissed attempts to tarnish his image using traditional folk sequences, asserting that such tactics would not shield CM Mann from accountability. He challenged Mann to visit Punjab villages without heavy security, emphasizing that Punjabis demand answers for his perceived betrayals.
Addressing the return of estranged Akalis to the party, Badal urged unity under Punjab’s regional party to safeguard the state from external exploitation. He pledged to review false cases filed by the AAP government if SAD comes to power, ensuring swift action against those responsible.
Highlighting the Congress’s failures in Punjab, Badal criticized the lack of progress despite their long tenure in power. He underscored the need for ‘panthic’ unity and called for Akalis to rejoin the party for collective strength. Badal outlined plans for a Punjab-centric approach, promising government jobs for locals and imposing hiring quotas for new investments.
