Veteran actor and politician Sunil Dutt shared on a chat show that he sent his son Sanjay Dutt to a boarding school out of love and a desire to instill discipline and good values. Sunil recalled a heartwarming incident from Sanjay’s childhood that showcased the actor’s compassionate nature.
When asked about the decision, Sunil explained that they wanted to prevent Sanjay from getting spoiled amidst the abundant love he received. He emphasized the importance of discipline in boarding schools and highlighted the positive aspects of the choice.
Sunil Dutt fondly remembered an incident where Sanjay, as a child, selflessly gave his jacket to a boy in need during a cold winter day. This act of kindness deeply touched Sunil, reflecting the compassionate nature of his son.
Sanjay Dutt has often spoken about the strong bond he shared with his father, Sunil Dutt, despite challenges. Sunil stood by Sanjay during tough times, including struggles with addiction and legal issues, and directed his debut film, “Rocky,” in 1981.
Sunil Dutt, known for his iconic roles in films like “Mother India” and “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.,” passed away in 2005 at the age of 74 due to a suspected cardiac arrest at his Mumbai residence. Apart from his acting career, he served as a Member of Parliament and later as the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports.
