Sunny Deol commemorated the 36th anniversary of his film ‘Ghayal’ by honoring his late father, legendary actor Dharmendra. He expressed gratitude for his father’s belief in him and credited writer Rajkumar Santoshi for bringing ‘Ghayal’ to life. Sunny also thanked the audience for their enduring love for the movie.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sunny shared a video montage featuring memorable scenes from ‘Ghayal’ and acknowledged his father’s support and Rajkumar Santoshi’s writing for making the film possible. Despite facing initial rejection from producers, Dharmendra decided to produce ‘Ghayal’ himself, a decision that proved to be a huge success for Sunny’s career.
On the occasion of the film’s anniversary, leading actress Meenakshi Seshadri celebrated by recreating her song ‘Maahiya Teri Kasam.’ She expressed her fondness for ‘Ghayal,’ emphasizing its significance in her cinematic journey after three decades. Meenakshi reminisced about her collaborations with Sunny Deol in films like ‘Dacait,’ ‘Ghayal,’ and ‘Ghatak,’ highlighting the enduring impact of their romantic duets.
‘Ghayal,’ which marked Rajkumar Santoshi’s directorial debut, featured Raj Babbar and Amrish Puri in key roles, supported by Moushumi Chatterjee, Annu Kapoor, Om Puri, Sharat Saxena, and Sudesh Berry.
