Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, fresh from the triumph of “Border 2,” is set to grace the silver screen again with “Gabru.” Directed by Shashank Udapurkar, the film is scheduled for a May 8 release this year. Initially planned for March 13, the release date was rescheduled to avoid a clash with “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” and “Toxic,” set to hit theaters on March 19.
“Gabru,” produced by Vishal Rana and Om Chhangani, will feature Sunny in a robust yet emotionally charged role, embodying strength and resilience. Sunny expressed that the film holds personal significance for him, touching on themes of courage and identity that have been integral to his cinematic journey.
Apart from Sunny, the movie stars Simran and Prit Kamani in pivotal roles. The soundtrack of “Gabru” will showcase compositions by Mithoon, with lyrics penned by Sayeed Quadri, Satinder Sartaj, and Anurag Saikya. The nationwide distribution will be handled by PVR INOX pictures.
The first glimpse of the film was unveiled on Sunny’s 68th birthday in October 2025, featuring poignant scenes hinting at the movie’s emotional depth. Additionally, Sunny is set to lead Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Lahore 1947,” alongside Preity Zinta, marking her return to the big screen.
