With the Supreme Court permitting both Basant Panchami worship and Friday namaz at the disputed Bhojshala Temple–Kamal Maula Mosque complex in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, the All India Muslim Jamaat National President, expressed concerns that this decision might not resolve the ongoing dispute but could potentially escalate it further. The Supreme Court’s order allows for puja to be conducted until sunrise, followed by namaz, without a final verdict on ownership rights, as the ownership case remains pending and awaits a final decision in the future.
Maulana Razvi emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and harmony amidst religious conflicts, highlighting the risks of tensions escalating when different communities clash. He urged for calm and restraint from all sides to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure peaceful coexistence. The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, along with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M. Pancholi, set specific arrangements to enable both Hindu and Muslim communities to practice their religious rituals within the premises, with namaz scheduled between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at a designated area.
Regarding the controversy involving Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and the bathing issue in Prayagraj, Maulana Razvi called for a resolution to the dispute and suggested that Shankaracharya ji should let go of any grievances related to the matter.
