India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, along with his wife, Devisha Shetty, visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, to offer prayers on Vaikuntha Ekadashi. They received a warm welcome from devotees and temple staff, donning traditional attire and participating in the rituals with reverence, highlighting the cultural and spiritual values embraced by many Indian athletes.
During their visit, they sought blessings from Lord Venkateswara and passed through the Vaikuntha Dwaram, facilitated by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials. Following the darshan, the priests blessed them at the Ranganayakulavari Mandapam inside the temple, where they also offered Tirtha Prasadam and presented the Lord’s vestments.
Suryakumar Yadav recently led the Indian team to a 3-1 victory against South Africa in the T20I series. He is set to captain the side in the upcoming five T20Is against New Zealand in January 2026, serving as a preparatory series before the T20 World Cup, starting on February 7. India, the defending champions, clinched the T20 World Cup in 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final.
