A suspect, identified as Izharul Haque, was apprehended in a collaborative effort between the Bihar Anti-Terrorism Squad and the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad. Haque, aged around 56 and the son of the late Haji Abdul Ghafoor, hails from Nau Tol Sarisvapahi village in Madhubani district. He was found residing at Madrasa Noore Mohammadiya in Urdu Mohalla, Raghonagar.
The arrest was made in connection with an investigation launched by the Madhya Pradesh Special Task Force under Case No. 06/2026 dated June 12, 2026. Legal actions have been taken under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 13(1)(b) and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Initial probes suggest that the accused may have been in communication with a handler in Pakistan.
During the operation, two Android mobile phones, a Redmi Note 5 and an OPPO handset, were seized from the suspect. The devices, along with other digital evidence, are currently undergoing forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities mentioned that further legal procedures are in progress, while investigative agencies delve into potential connections and communications related to the case.
In a separate incident on May 22, the Bihar Anti-Terrorism Squad had arrested Mohammad Mustafa from Muzaffarpur for alleged ties with Pakistan-based operatives. Mustafa, son of Mohammad Sagir from Ratanpur village, was suspected of collaborating with anti-India elements and maintaining direct contact with Pakistan-based arms smuggler Shehzad Bhatti and associates. The arrest followed intelligence inputs on purported anti-national activities and investigations revealed his use of social media and encrypted messaging for communication with foreign handlers.
