A suspected double murder has been discovered in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where the bodies of a man and a woman were found in an agricultural field. The incident, which took place in Brahmankheda village under the Raghavi police station’s jurisdiction, has prompted a thorough investigation by the police. The bodies were spotted by local residents in the field, leading to immediate notification of the authorities.
During the initial investigation, it was observed that the bodies were found about 100 meters apart near the field’s boundary, indicating a possibility that the incident occurred elsewhere before the victims were moved or left at separate locations. The deceased individuals have been identified as Kaluram Verma (35) and Manju Sharma (36), both residents of Bailakheda village in Ujjain district.
Both bodies showed visible head injuries, raising suspicions of a violent attack. However, the exact cause and time of death will only be confirmed after post-mortem examinations and forensic analysis. Police are exploring all potential angles and awaiting the post-mortem report as the case progresses.
Tension has gripped the nearby villages as news of the incident spread, drawing a large crowd of curious onlookers to the crime scene. Senior police officials, including DSP Jaden Lingjerpa, visited the site to oversee the investigation, with an FSL team called in to gather forensic evidence. Investigators are collecting samples and examining the area for any clues that could shed light on the sequence of events leading to the tragic deaths.
Preliminary inquiries suggest that the man and woman were acquainted, but authorities have refrained from attributing the deaths to a specific motive until scientific and forensic reports are received. Statements from family members and locals are being recorded, and the victims’ movements prior to their deaths are under police scrutiny. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, with the findings expected to play a crucial role in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the deaths. No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
