The Suvendu Adhikari-led government in West Bengal disclosed the final portfolio allocation to newly sworn-in ministers on Wednesday. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari retained significant departments like Home, Hills, Land & Land Reforms, and more. Notably, Swapan Dasgupta was assigned the Finance department, while Jagannath Chattopadhyay received the state higher education portfolio.
Veteran leader Tapas Roy, known for his experience, was given crucial departments including Industry, Commerce, and Public Enterprises. Dr. Sharadwat Mukherjee, a medical practitioner, will oversee the health & family welfare department. Dipak Burman, a seasoned legislator, was appointed as the cabinet minister for Education and Housing.
Shankar Ghosh, a former BJP chief whip, will handle Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism. Other allocations include Manoj Kumar Oraon for Forests, Arjun Singh for Labor and Transport, and Kalyan Chakraborti for Information Technology and Science. The state government also assigned portfolios to ministers of state, including Malati Ravo Roy, Rajesh Mahata, and Dr. Indranil Khan.
