Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, stated that the number of deleted voters in the final voters’ list in the state will exceed those removed in the draft list. The final voters’ list is set to be released on February 4 after ongoing hearings on claims and objections.
Adhikari mentioned that despite alleged illegal voting by Bangladeshi and Rohingya individuals for the Trinamool Congress, the BJP secured nearly 40 lakh votes less than the ruling party in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. He highlighted the deletion of 58.20 lakh names in the draft list and anticipated more removals in the final list.
At a public rally in Chanchal, Malda district, Adhikari emphasized the importance of Hindu voter unity to challenge the current Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal. He cited examples from specific constituencies where such unity led to favorable outcomes for the BJP.
Adhikari, who represents Nandigram, underscored the significance of Hindu votes in elections. He expressed confidence that if similar unity is observed across Assembly constituencies, BJP candidates could win in a substantial number of seats in the upcoming state elections.
