The Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for discrepancies between her statements during a search operation at the office and residence of Pratik Jain. Adhikari highlighted that Banerjee’s claims in her Supreme Court affidavit differed from what she stated on the day of the raid.
Adhikari pointed out that Banerjee’s conflicting statements indicated a fear of legal consequences. He emphasized the stark contrast between Banerjee’s actions during the raid and her assertions in the affidavit, suggesting a lack of consistency in her explanations.
The Supreme Court postponed the hearing on the matter to February 10. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta requested more time to respond to the West Bengal government’s counter affidavit, leading to the adjournment of the proceedings.
