The Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, has reached out to Governor C.V. Ananda Bose regarding the escalating situation in Beldanga, Murshidabad district. Adhikari expressed deep concern over the communal violence targeting innocent Hindu families in the area.
In his letter to the Governor, Adhikari highlighted attacks on journalists, including female reporters, covering the unrest in Beldanga. He criticized the state and district administration for their alleged inaction in controlling the violent mob that has been causing havoc since Friday.
Adhikari emphasized the urgent need for prohibitory orders and the deployment of central armed police forces to restore peace in Beldanga. He referenced a past directive from the Calcutta High Court and urged the Governor to intervene promptly to prevent further escalation of the situation.
