National General Secretary of the Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti, Swami Jitendranand Saraswati, stated that popular temples in India were destroyed to construct mosques. This statement followed the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision to recognize the Bhojshala complex as a Hindu temple belonging to King Bhoj, allowing exclusive Hindu worship at the site. Swami Jitendranand Saraswati expressed satisfaction with the court’s ruling.
In a video message, Swami Jitendranand Saraswati alleged that offering ‘namaz’ at the temple of Goddess Saraswati was an insult to the Hindu community. He emphasized the belief of Sant Samiti that mosques were built on the ruins of prominent temples in the country, not meant for offering prayers. The High Court’s decision to revoke the Archaeological Survey of India’s 2003 order permitting Muslim prayers at the site was highlighted.
Swami Jitendranand Saraswati urged Muslim religious organizations to step back from disputed sites in Mathura and Varanasi, drawing parallels to the Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid and Dhar Bhojshala cases. He mentioned ongoing disputes regarding the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi and the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura, claimed to be constructed over ancient Hindu temples. The seer called for peace nationwide and appealed for discussions while requesting Muslims to vacate the disputed sites in Mathura and Varanasi.
Dinesh Sharma, also known as Falahari Baba, praised the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s ruling, expressing hope for the restoration of temples previously taken over and destroyed by Mughal rulers. Falahari Baba believed that the Bhojshala case could set a precedent for justice in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute. He likened the court’s decision to a Diwali celebration for Hindus.
