Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti General Secretary Swami Jitendranand Saraswati has entered the Hanumangarhi namaz dispute in Ayodhya. This comes after UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s statement about namaz being offered on Hanumangarhi steps, sparking a political uproar in the state. Swami Jitendranand Saraswati refuted claims that namaz was never conducted at Hanumangarhi, stating it happened twice and was halted due to Naga Sadhus’ protests in 2005.
Swami Jitendranand Saraswati dismissed assertions by former MP Brijbhushan Singh and Swami Avimukteshwaranand that namaz was not performed at Hanumangarhi. He highlighted an incident during Mulayam Singh Yadav’s tenure in 2003 when a Roza Iftar party and Namaz took place within the Hanuman Garhi premises. The Sant Samiti General Secretary emphasized the significance of opposing such actions to safeguard the sanctity of Lord Hanuman’s darshan.
Regarding the construction of the Hanuman Garhi temple, Swami Jitendranand Saraswati rejected claims of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daulah’s involvement. He mentioned historical evidence supporting the simultaneous construction of the Hanuman temple with Maharaja Vikramaditya’s temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace. Swami Jitendranand Saraswati cited court records and videos from various sources to affirm that Namaz was offered in 2003 and attempted in 2005 at Hanuman Garhi, emphasizing the Naga Sadhus’ protest to protect their faith.
