Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal stated that the era of “violence” and “appeasement” politics in West Bengal is nearing its conclusion, with the BJP leading by a significant margin in the state. Maliwal, who recently switched from AAP to BJP, highlighted the BJP’s dominance in 188 Assembly seats compared to Trinamool Congress’s 94 seats as per ECI trends.
She expressed optimism about the BJP’s imminent victory in West Bengal, emphasizing the end of longstanding practices of thuggery, violence, and vote bank appeasement. Maliwal also mentioned the BJP’s strong performance in Assam and Puducherry, projecting the formation of governments in these regions.
Acknowledging the BJP’s success, Maliwal extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, and the diligent BJP workers. The BJP, confident in its electoral triumph, interpreted the Election Commission’s trends in West Bengal as a clear indication of popular support, with the electorate overcoming fear to voice their preferences.
Reacting to the unfolding trends, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi noted the alignment between exit polls and counting trends, suggesting a prevailing wave of nationalism in Bengal. Trivedi anticipated a transformative outcome, likening the emerging trends to a nationalist wave evolving into a political tsunami.
