A.N.S. Prasad, Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson, expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) potential historic win in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He attributed this momentum to the increasing national trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Prasad highlighted the BJP’s recent electoral triumphs nationwide as an endorsement of the Modi government’s focus on development, transparency, and effective governance.
The spokesperson emphasized that this political wave is gaining traction in Tamil Nadu, with voters showing a shift towards awareness, assertiveness, and a rejection of corruption and mismanagement. Prasad criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for failing to meet public expectations, citing issues like corruption, administrative deterioration, and policies perceived as detrimental to the people.
Prasad pointed out the significance of the upcoming NDA rally on January 23 in Madurantakam, Chengalpattu district, where Prime Minister Modi and other NDA leaders, including AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, are set to address the gathering. The choice of Madurantakam, known for the Eri Katha Ramar Temple linked to a legend of Lord Rama protecting the region from floods, symbolizes the NDA’s commitment to safeguarding Tamil Nadu’s welfare, culture, and future.
Referring to the historical Uthiramerur inscriptions from the Chola era documenting advanced local self-governance systems, Prasad highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s recognition of these inscriptions as a testament to India’s deep-rooted democratic heritage. He concluded by stating that the 2026 elections would signify a crucial shift for Tamil Nadu, signaling the end of mismanagement and the dawn of accountable, culturally grounded, and development-oriented governance under the NDA.
