Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Working President Nitin Nabin visited Tamil Nadu to enhance the party’s presence in rural areas before the Assembly elections. Nabin is set to participate in a public event near Coimbatore to launch the VB-G RAM G scheme, a rural employment initiative by the Union government.
Prasad highlighted that the visit signifies the BJP’s effort to directly engage with villagers, farmers, laborers, women, and youth. The VB-G RAM G Act, 2025, introduced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, ensures up to 125 days of wage employment per rural household, along with skill development and asset creation.
The scheme focuses on weekly wage payments, climate-resilient infrastructure, and decentralized planning through panchayats. It includes a provision for temporary pauses during peak agricultural seasons to support farming activities. Prasad emphasized the significant benefits Tamil Nadu stands to gain from this initiative.
The BJP spokesperson criticized the DMK and its allies, including the Congress, for opposing the scheme despite its potential advantages for rural households. He argued that such opposition hinders long-term village development, transparency, and employment generation efforts.
Nabin is expected to engage with various groups during his visit, emphasizing the importance of rural employment, infrastructure development, and skill enhancement in realizing the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ vision. The BJP aims to strengthen rural support in Tamil Nadu through the VB-G RAM G outreach, positioning itself as a development-oriented choice for the upcoming elections.
