Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay inaugurated his renovated MLA office in Perambur, marking his first official engagement in the constituency. The event also introduced a mobile application aimed at facilitating the resolution of civic issues for residents of the Assembly segment.
The upgraded constituency office, situated in Sharma Nagar First Street in Vyasarpadi, now operates as a comprehensive public service center. Equipped with a dedicated office for the Chief Minister, CCTV surveillance, and a 10-member team, the facility will handle public petitions on a daily basis.
Additionally, the office features an integrated E-Sevai center, offering residents access to various government services and civic amenities under one roof. The newly launched mobile application enables individuals to lodge complaints regarding water supply, electricity, sanitation, roads, streetlights, and government welfare schemes. It also allows them to monitor the progress of their petitions online.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, who won in both Perambur and Tiruchy East in the recent Assembly election, chose to retain Perambur as his political base. During the inauguration event, he also kickstarted the State government’s distribution of new ration cards initiative.
Inspecting an MTC electric vehicle charging station near the Vyasarpadi Metro Rail station, the Chief Minister also assessed passenger amenities at a nearby Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus depot. Simultaneously, the Greater Chennai Corporation initiated plans to develop a comprehensive blueprint for Perambur, focusing on flood mitigation, water infrastructure enhancement, parking solutions, road upgrades, and environmental restoration projects.
