Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay expressed condolences to the parents of a 10-year-old girl who was tragically found murdered near Sulur in Coimbatore district. He assured the parents that the government would ensure severe punishment for the perpetrators. The incident has caused shock and condemnation across the state, with political parties and the public expressing outrage.

Vijay, during a phone call with the grieving parents, provided comfort and pledged that the state government would diligently pursue the case to ensure justice is served. Earlier, the Chief Minister had characterized the crime as inhuman and unacceptable in society. The victim, a resident near Sulur, had gone out for shopping but never returned, leading her family to seek police assistance and launch a search operation.

A significant investigation was initiated by police teams, with local residents also participating in the search efforts. Tragically, the missing girl was discovered dead in a bushy area in the vicinity, sparking fear and anger among residents and drawing widespread attention in Tamil Nadu. The crime’s disturbing nature led to the identification of the victim’s neighbor as the primary suspect, resulting in the arrest of Karthik, 33, in connection with the case. Additionally, Mohan Raj, suspected to be an accomplice, has been taken into custody for questioning.

The incident has reignited concerns about crimes against children and public safety, prompting calls for stronger preventive measures and stricter enforcement of laws against offenders. Political leaders and organizations in Tamil Nadu have strongly condemned the incident, advocating for swift justice and the severest penalties for those involved in crimes against children. Police have assured that the investigation is ongoing, with further legal actions to be taken based on the inquiry’s findings.
