Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is set to inaugurate Tata Motors’ newly established automobile manufacturing plant at the SIPCOT Industrial Estate in Panapakkam, Ranipet district. This marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial and employment growth. The project, involving an investment of Rs 9,000 crore, is expected to create direct employment for around 5,000 individuals.

The foundation stone for the facility was laid by the Chief Minister on September 28, 2024, on behalf of the State’s Department of Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce. Following the completion of preliminary works, the plant is now prepared for operations. CM Stalin will officially open the factory and oversee the production of the first vehicle from the assembly line.

This event is viewed as a major boost to Tamil Nadu’s automobile manufacturing sector, solidifying the state’s position as a key automotive hub in India. Notable figures such as Handlooms and Textiles Minister R. Gandhi, Industries Minister Dr T.R.B. Rajaa, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and senior officials are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.
