In a significant bureaucratic move, the Tamil Nadu government has directed the transfer and assignment of several senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in key departments like Finance, Revenue Administration, Tourism, and the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC). Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar issued the orders on behalf of the Governor.
One notable change involves N. Muruganandam, a senior IAS officer returning from leave, who has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, replacing P. Amudha.
Another significant change is the transfer of M.A. Siddique, who previously served as Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), to the role of Additional Chief Secretary in the Finance Department, succeeding T. Udhayachandran.
Moreover, Dr S. Swarna, who held the position of Principal Secretary and State Project Director of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), has been named the new Principal Secretary of the Tourism, Culture, and Religious Endowments Department, taking over from Dr K. Manivasan.
Additionally, K. Nanthakumar, the current Registrar of Cooperative Societies, will now serve as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), replacing T. Christuraj. The terms of Nanthakumar’s deputation to foreign service will be governed by specific provisions.
This bureaucratic reshuffle coincides with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, implementing various administrative changes since assuming office recently.
