Senior Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK General Secretary Durai Murugan, a prominent political figure in the state, was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai due to leg pain related to age-related health issues. Doctors have confirmed that he is in stable condition and is currently under observation.

Durai Murugan, 87 years old, known for his quick wit and strong responses in the Assembly, has been facing recurring health problems associated with old age, leading to regular medical check-ups. As a precautionary measure, he was taken to Apollo Hospital on Greams Road after experiencing discomfort and persistent leg pain.

Upon admission, a team of specialists conducted immediate medical evaluations and provided intensive care to alleviate his pain. Doctors have prescribed medication, including pain relievers, and recommended complete rest for a few days to facilitate a speedy recovery. Hospital authorities have assured that there is no significant cause for concern and that the minister is responding well to treatment.

Sources close to the family mentioned that Murugan is under constant medical supervision and is expected to be discharged within two days if his condition continues to improve. Party colleagues and well-wishers have been showing concern for his health, with senior DMK leaders closely monitoring the situation.

Durai Murugan is highly respected as one of Tamil Nadu’s most experienced politicians, with extensive legislative and administrative background. A trusted aide of the DMK leadership, he has been instrumental in the party’s organizational and political strategies. His presence in the Assembly is often highlighted for his humorous yet pointed responses during debates.

Party workers expressed relief upon learning that his hospitalization was a precautionary measure and not due to any major complications. They anticipate his return to official duties shortly after a period of rest. The DMK leadership has reassured supporters of his steady recovery and imminent return home.
