The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has introduced a stringent dress code and security measures for candidates participating in the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET). The exam, spanning two days, aims to select teachers for government schools in the state. Candidates are not allowed to wear belts, shoes, high heels, or digital watches during the examination to ensure fairness and prevent malpractice.
Paper I, designed for those aspiring to be secondary grade teachers, will take place at 222 exam centers with an expected 61,386 candidates. Paper II, for graduate teacher positions, will be held at 613 centers in Tamil Nadu, with 1,67,743 candidates registered. The Teachers Recruitment Board has appointed district-level monitoring officers to oversee the exam’s smooth conduct.
Senior officials like Directors, Joint Directors, and Deputy Directors of School Education will serve as District Monitoring Officers to supervise arrangements, monitor exam centers, and ensure strict compliance with guidelines. Detailed instructions on reporting time and entry into exam centers have been issued. Candidates must arrive between 8.30 A.M. and 9.30 A.M., with no late entries allowed after 9.30 A.M.
In addition to the reporting time, TRB has imposed restrictions on items allowed inside exam halls. Belts, shoes, high heels, digital watches, mobile phones, and electronic devices are strictly prohibited to maintain the exam’s integrity. Any candidate found with banned items or involved in malpractice will be immediately disqualified. Officials emphasize the importance of following guidelines to ensure a transparent and smooth conduct of the exam, one of the state’s largest teacher recruitment tests.
