Skipper Tanmay Agarwal showcased a remarkable performance, scoring 137 runs off 61 balls, guiding Karimnagar Diamonds to a 75-run win over Ranga Reddy Risers. Ashish Srivastav’s five-wicket haul was instrumental in securing their spot in the Qualifier 2 of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s TG20 tournament.
Karimnagar Diamonds, choosing to bat first, amassed a formidable total of 238/7 in 20 overs, fueled by Tanmay’s exceptional innings and a solid half-century from Hrishikesh Simha. In response, despite valiant efforts from Ranga Reddy Risers’ skipper Tanay Thyagarajann and Nitin Sai Yadav, Srivastav’s bowling brilliance restricted them to 163 runs.
Tanmay’s explosive knock, comprising 11 boundaries and 10 sixes, marked his second consecutive century in the tournament. His partnership with Simha, who also reached a milestone, proved crucial in setting up the victory for Karimnagar Diamonds.
The Diamonds’ dominant performance, led by Tanmay’s stellar century and Srivastav’s bowling heroics, sealed their place in the upcoming do-or-die Qualifier 2 match, where they will face the losing team of Qualifier 1 for a shot at the title.
