Left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Tanuja Kanwar commended Radha Yadav’s return to the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup squad, highlighting her significant progress in both batting and bowling. Radha, who last played a T20I in 2025, showcased impressive performances in various tournaments, securing her spot in the upcoming mega event.

Despite missing out on recent T20I series due to competition among left-arm spinners, Radha excelled in leagues like the Women’s Premier League and led India A to victory in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament. Her exceptional all-round skills and the absence of key players due to injuries paved the way for her inclusion in the national squad.

Tanuja, focusing on the upcoming India ‘A’ tour of England, emphasized the importance of the ‘A’ team setup in preparing players for international challenges. She highlighted the increased match frequency for India A women’s team, providing valuable exposure and experience against top players, enhancing their readiness for the national team.

Reflecting on India ‘A’ triumph in the Rising Stars Women’s Asia Cup, Tanuja underscored the team’s resilience after a setback in the initial match. She credited the squad’s mental toughness and adaptability for their eventual success, showcasing a strong comeback and clinching the championship.

Transitioning from different playing conditions, Tanuja discussed the challenges faced by the team in adjusting from batter-friendly pitches to slower surfaces. Adapting to the varying conditions required strategic changes in approach, emphasizing the significance of flexibility and quick adjustments in performance.

As a dedicated all-rounder, Tanuja stressed the importance of rigorous practice to maintain peak performance in white-ball cricket. Emphasizing the value of hard work and dedication in practice sessions, she highlighted the role of thorough preparation in enhancing match performance and consistency.

Looking ahead to the packed schedule in England, Tanuja expressed excitement about the prospect of witnessing the one-off Test at Lord’s, showcasing the team’s aspiration to experience the iconic venue despite not playing there. The anticipation of watching the prestigious Test match at Lord’s adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming tour for Tanuja and her teammates.
